FAQ
What is GM part 21075686?
An 8mm nylon push retainer GM has used for decades on rocker panels, wheelhouse liners, air inlet ducts and cowl grilles. It is cross-referenced with 11561878. Our replacement has the same 8mm shank and a 15mm head.
Will the Nissan 01553-09321 replacement look the same?
It fits the same 8mm hole and holds the same panels, but the factory Nissan clip has a 20mm head and ours is 15mm. For liners, shields and hidden fasteners it is a working replacement; on a visible exterior panel you may prefer the wide OEM head.
Do all cars use 8mm push rivets?
No. Car clip sizes vary by make, model and even panel position. Pop out one old clip and measure the hole: a 5/16" drill bit that just slips through confirms 8mm. A 9mm or 10mm hole needs a different clip.
How thick can the panels be?
About 2-6mm of combined panel thickness for the 8mm rivet. See push rivet grip range.
